3D Editor Controls
Move, rotate and zoom the 3D voxel editor with mouse, keyboard, touch or stylus. Move tool, Space to look around, selection and every shortcut.
The 3D editor paints voxel models you render out as isometric pixel art. It works with a mouse, a keyboard, fingers or a stylus. This page covers moving around the scene and the controls that differ from the 2D editor.
Moving the view
The quickest way to look around is the Move tool (hand icon, first in the toolbar). It never edits the model, so drag freely.

Mouse, with any tool
Keyboard
The buttons in the bottom-right corner do the same: − / + zoom and the circular arrow resets the view.
Tip: With Snap on (the default), every rotation settles on the nearest clean isometric angle, so exports stay pixel-crisp. Turn it off with Shift+S to inspect odd angles, then press a number key to land back on a clean view.
Phone and tablet
- Two fingers — drag to pan, pinch to zoom. The angle stays put and nothing is painted.
- One finger — uses the current tool. Pick the Move tool (hand) to rotate with one finger.
- View angle button, right of Generate — rotate and tilt steps plus every preset view (front, side, top …).
- View settings button, left of Generate — grid, snap, outline and the other view toggles.
- Reset view — the circular arrow next to the zoom buttons.
Stylus: the first time a pen touches the canvas, the editor switches to Pen only. The pen paints and fingers only move the view, so a resting palm leaves no marks. Turn it off with the pen icon in the view controls (left rail on desktop, View settings on phones).

Selection
Press M and drag to select a box of voxels. Drag the handles to resize it. While a selection exists, a bar at the top of the screen offers every action as a button, so it works without a keyboard too.
Selection
Lifted voxels float until you apply them. You can switch to the Move tool or hold Space to look at them from another angle, then keep dragging.
Pro tips
- Keep one hand on Space: tap-hold to swing the camera between strokes without ever leaving the brush. Space+Shift+drag pans the same way.
- Paint flat faces from straight-on views (front/side/top in View angle, or tilt with ↑/↓): strokes land on one plane and never slip onto a neighbouring face.
- Lost the model? 0 fits it on screen at the current angle; Home also resets the angle.
